How... would one celebrate Thanksgiving? I possess no prior experience to this so called holiday. What should be done?

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
... I've never heard of a Thanksgiving, chu! When's that supposed to be? Image

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
In this country... tomorrow.

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
... Tomorrow! Image Image Chuuuuuuuu, I'm going to need to prepare right now!

...

But I don't know what to do either, chu!

You mean... You don't know? It's a good thing you're asking, because if you showed up at any dinners tomorrow wearing anything more than a potato sack you'd just be a disgrace!

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
From what I have been able to discern, you spend time with friends and family... and have a dinner?

Oh wendy :'D [Privates]

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
The topics I have read merely stated what it was without elaborating on what one did.

Ah... A custom of humbleness? Is it a widely used notion?

[identity profile] pink-shroom.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanksgiving is when you spend time with people you cherish and be thankful for the things you have.

[identity profile] brattykoopa.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
That's how everyone I know does it. Something about living as some bum for a day to have gratitude for what you have. I hate it because you have to bring a meal made from nasty things you find in the trash and you can't even warm it up unless you have a garbage can to light on fire.

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
... Family!

I can't go home in time, chuuuuuuu...

So I guess I'll send a letter home again and spend the day with friends, chu! Can people eat apples for Thanksgiving? [She would love her some apple cider and apple pie and also perfect apples of perfection.]

Thanksgiving is when you are thankful to everyone you know and eat lots and lots of food poyo! :D

Originally, Thanksgiving was celebrated as a harvest festival and was celebrated to give thanks to God for their family and food.

Today it's traditionally celebrated by holding an extravagant dinner with friends and family and by giving thanks.

Do you have anyone to celebrate it with, Vianca?

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You can probably eat whatever you'd like.

[Vianca is writing this down as some sort of Koopa tradition and makes plans to cross reference this :|c]

I see... I feel as though there could be many things you could create from the trash, as many people through away perfectly acceptable meals each day.

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Do you have any special ways of celebrating it?

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
What kind of foods do you usually eat?

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I see... this seems to be the standard consensus.

... I am sure they all have their established plans. I would not want to intrude.

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Oh!

Gotcha, chu! Image I'll find all of the apples I can! [And ketchup packets. And anything else she can get her grubby paws on.]

[identity profile] pink-shroom.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
It's tradition to have a large and plentiful feast. People even openly share what they're thankful for.

[identity profile] warpstar-rider.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Poyooo all kinds of food! There's always turkey, but there's also lots of different kind of pies but mainly pumpkin pies, lots and lots of mashed potatoes, cranberries... some people eat other kinds of food for having a party too poyo, but lots and lots of food!
temptedthesnake: (11; and eyes that burn like cigarettes.)

[personal profile] temptedthesnake 2010-11-25 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
I don't have any plans at the moment.

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. That is quite a bit.

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
...

Perhaps I would not be an intrusion then.

[identity profile] warpstar-rider.livejournal.com 2010-11-26 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, lots of food poyo! They're all really good poyo! Christmas time also gets lots of food too poyoyo!!
temptedthesnake: (Default)

[hi this is totally still the day before thanksgiving]

[personal profile] temptedthesnake 2010-11-26 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
Not in the slightest.

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
... Good luck.

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder how different the meals are between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

[Yes this one is too yep.]

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
... Should I bring anything?

Do you follow the potato sack tradition?
temptedthesnake: (10; something in your smile...)

[personal profile] temptedthesnake 2010-11-27 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
...Potato sack tradition?

Just bring yourself. We'll cook together.

[identity profile] notsotoxic.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. I suppose not then.

Alright.

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Chu, thanks! Image

[identity profile] warpstar-rider.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I think there's more cakes during Christmas poyo, but I don't really know the difference poyo. Food is food and I just inhale them all before looking
