In-Character Information
Name : Vianca the
Game/Series: Pikmin II
Canon Point: Delicious OC is good in salads and did not participate in game canons. Canon is current SBG canon.
Age & Grade Level: 3. [Appears 15-16.] Sophomore.
Personality:
If you had met Vianca when she was previously enrolled in the school, the chances are high that she didn't really stick out in your mind much. But if she did leave an impression, it was probably of a girl that didn't say much, didn't smile much, and always had her nose in a book. Altogether, kind of gloomy and more or less forgettable. Exactly what she had intended to be. Well, maybe not the gloomy part, but Vianca never intended to be anything more than a little white shadow in anyone's lives.
…Not much has really changed in the emotional spectrum, to be honest.
She is a very quiet girl that seems to keep to herself most of the time. She's certainly not a shy girl, she just simply does not speak most of the time. If Vianca has something to say, she won't hesitate to say it, but more often than not she keeps her mouth shut and her thoughts to herself. (Most of her actual journal entries when she does write them are written in an actual book.) She plays the role of an observer, always watching those around her and making notes to herself about their reactions and behaviors. Ultimately, she wants to understand people, because people are the most interesting, baffling, and hazardous things that could ever exist.
And if there are things that Vianca does not like (which there are), they would be things that were hazardous, bad influences, or various other considerably dubious actions (which they are). This has not changed at all. She does not like these things at all and tries her best to keep an eye out for the people she cares about so that harm will not befall them, but it comes across more as mother-henning and generally being a party pooper and getting on everyone's nerves. It is to the point that whenever Vianca actually opens her mouth to say something, it is probably to tell you to stop doing something.
But for all those that she has glowered at disapprovingly and clicked her tongue out, there is hope yet for a brighter tomorrow. Vianca does what she does because she cares, and she is learning. Learning is best done through experience, which is something she's known… and is slowly accepting that she sometimes has to let others reap those benefits on their own, even if she doesn't like it. But you can bet anything that if they needed her, she'd do all she could to be there.
While she might not be shy, Vianca is certainly a bit awkward. Spending all of her time with her nose in books means she doesn't really interact, so her social skills are… rather lacking. She certainly tries to be polite, and acknowledges people that talk to her but… She doesn't know how to react to things well. How do you take a compliment? How do you cheer someone up? What does one do when you're with a group of friends? How do you make friends? It's a slow learning process, but she'll get there eventually.
Backstory:
Once upon a time ago, a tiny white pikmin ran through the snow and found herself at a very large school that was full of very bad influences. She encountered and learned many things. Loved and loss. A whole myriad of emotions and feelings that the tiny pikmin just didn't know what to do with. It was a strange experience that put her mind on many trials. It was High School.
Then Petunia left. Vianca began to worry, as that was what she did best. They certainly kept in contact, but it came to the point where just keeping in contact wasn't going to cut it. So Vianca packed the few belongings she had, knowing her sisters at the school were in relatively good hands, and went to visit for an indeterminable amount of time. A few days turned into a few weeks… months… And slowly, one by one, more sisters came back with stories of things that had happened.
She was surprised when she woke up one morning expecting a giant pony…llama…thing next to her. But there was no pony. Or explosions. Or treasure hunts. Or pretty librarians. Despite all her better judgement, Vianca missed it. She missed her studies. The variety of people. The other 3/4s of the Library she still needed to read. EVA. And so began Vianca's journey of becoming a master of the city transportation system and making visits to Master Hand's office to discuss if her scholarship was still in effect and housing and etc. etc. etc.
Yes, they were. Vianca told him she'd be back for the new term.
But she was a little late, having been a bit… Distracted. The cool new thing to do when you were a Pikmin was to argue amongst yourselves over whether or not something was true or if they would actually happen. If you hit that tree, bags of money will fall out. If you bury a pikmin, they turn into a gold pikmin. If you put on a burlap sack and a mardi gras mask, there's no way anyone would ever recognize you. Most of the arguments were pretty dim, but that didn't matter as much as the volume with which they were made. They started as a quiet buzzing, only mildly annoying like a small insect. But then they kept getting louder and louder and finally Vianca had had enough of listening to it.
That day's argument was whether or not you could get candypopped when you were people shaped. "That is entirely ridiculous," Vianca had commented to herself and to them. "There is no logical reason for that to happen to a person." So if they promised they would be quiet and stop arguing, she would sit on the flower. There was instant silence.
There was no logical reason for that to happen to a person, but even as a person, Vianca was still a pikmin.
Now she was very red, and without a single white candypop in sight, she was very confused, and entirely too ready to go back to school.
Anything Else?:
- She is still a shorty mcshorty, but she's significantly taller than she used to be. (4'9" >>>> 4")
- She is kind of super uncomfortable with this new body and is still adjusting. She misses being super fast and eating mistletoe and being useful for treasure hunting. But she DOES like sitting outside and being taller. She used to be a red pikmin, but that was years ago so its more or less a new experience.
- She misses EVA. She is going to be searching that library inch by inch for more clues.
OCELOT WHERE IS SHE. TELL ME. *SHAKES KITTY TREAT JAR* - Hello Miss Fire Resistance.
- At the earliest opportunity possible, Vianca would be Very Interested in assisting the Nurse in their duties. Is this Rhys?
- If Selene took her favorite seat in the Library there are going to be some words >8U (PS BTW the library is totally the new lesbian hang out spot.)
- She volunteered at FDC's library and Pokemon Center from time to time so that she could keep watching different types of people.
In-Character 1st person writing sample (journal):
…
I suppose something can be said about the fact that I am surprised this school is still standing. But am I really surprised at all? Perhaps not.
((W-would you like some more. She is not a talker doop doop doop ;_; ))
In-Character 3rd person writing post:
There was someone new in the library.
His presence was familiar. He was very much like that older man that worked there, except… something was funny. He was much cockier and seemed… a lot more dim. It was almost disappointing, but it was also very confusing. They shared the same name and similar mannerisms. It was as if they were the very same person, just a few decades younger.
It was incredibly puzzling and also incredibly distracting. The red-head watched him from over the pages of her book, unable to focus on the words of the type in favor of trying to piece together this mystery. The important part was that he knew the previous librarian. Mentioning her name had gotten the strangest look out of him, but he hadn't said a word. Just what had that been about…?
Oh, it seemed he had found the kitty treats that were left next to the apple. Vianca's gaze fell back to her book, the faintest ghost of a smile present for just a brief moment.
